Welcome to the Caton United Methodist Church

Pastor Michela St.Marie

Dear Members and Friends of Caton United Methodist Church,

Greetings in the Name of our Loving Savior Jesus Christ.

You all know by now that we are officially in a global state of pandemic and a national emergency. This virus is insidious, both in its exponential spreading even before symptoms occur and in its relatively high fatality rate. It is especially deadly for those 60 and over and those with preexisting medical conditions. As you read that information, think about the make-up of our congregation.

In consultation with denominational leaders, I have decided to cancel all activities, including Sunday morning worship, until further notice. I will be working between now and then on devising a new way for me to lead you all even if only from afar. So far, Bishop Webb has said until the end of March, but that may change as time goes on.

One concern on the minds of people on the leadership team is finances. With no worship we do not have our regular way of receiving money. If you have email and are on realm you can get on www.onrealm.org and click on the “giving” button and make an online gift to the church. You can make this a one time gift or you can set up your giving to be automatically withdrawn from your credit/debit card or your checking account on a regular basis. This way your weekly or monthly giving to the church would come automatically whether you are in worship or not. If you are not on realm you can simply mail a check to the church, and our counters will come in to count and do a deposit once a week until we are back to our regularly scheduled worship.

We will plan to stay in touch by telephone and social media platforms. If you or someone that you know is in need of ANYTHING, please contact us at the parsonage phone, 607-524-0055 or my cell phone 315-521-4278.

My vision and dream is that when we are again able to gather in person for worship, that there is a tsunami of people who gather in our churches because they are hungry to come and worship with people who have so clearly demonstrated the love of Christ to them in this difficult time!!!

Finally friends, may we all seek ways in these days to share the awesome love of God with neighbors, friends, and strangers. Look for God in these days – I believe God is active and all around us!

God’s Blessings,

Pastor Michaela
